Other factors effecting Heat Range are the thermal characteristics of the insulator and the bond of the insulator to the shell. In both regards, Autolite plugs are superior.

How to Determine Correct Spark Plug Heat Range
Preview

4 hours ago It is a 1-inch reach tapered seat plug. This would be an Iridium plug from Autolite as an XP5263. A double Platinum would be an APP 5263. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the heat range of the autolite ar 3924?

Much appreciated. Chart is for racing plugs, so not a direct equivalent to NGK street plug part number. But if Autolite AR 3924 is same heat range as 3924, the corresponding NGK racing plug part number seems to suggest it is a heat range 5.

What is the range for autolite spark plugs?

Within the Autolite family, this particular plug is toward the hotter side of the range that runs (cold-to-hot) 3922 – 3923 – 3924 – 3926. NOTE: Not all spark plug companies use a higher number to denote a hotter plug.

What is the difference between autolite 4 and stock heat plug?

The '4' on the end of the Autolite part number is the temp range. A "stock heat range" plug would be a 5 or 6 (higher is hotter). So 4 is a notch or two colder than stock.

What is the best heat range for my engine?

The key to a heat range selection is related to selecting a plug that will efficiently burn-off carbon deposits from the center ceramic during normal use of the engine. So for a normal, street-driven engine, that 3924 recommendation is a great place to start.
